gNote has become an essential tool for me but there is one worrying factor and that is what appears to be an inconsistency in copying the .gnote file between computers or from a backup to a reinstalled system.
When I do a reinstallation of SolusOS, or any other Linux distribution for that matter, I install gNote and copy the .gnote hidden file to my new Home folder. I then launch gNote. Sometimes all is well and I have all the data in the .gnote file but at other times I find that gNote is treating it as a completely "new" installation. In the case of the "new" installation, I have found that if I open my Home folder and display hidden files, open .gnote and delete the contents and thenopen my .gnote backup and copy the files to the .gnote Home folder all will work as expected. Unfortunately, this does not always work and I have to repeat the exercise several times to be successful. What is even more puzzling, is that if I open the .gnote file in gEdit and examine the contents all my old data is there but gNote still displays as a "new" installation. Although not a "deal breaker" it would be nice to know why this is happening and what I may be doing wrong for such a thing to occur. David -- David Money is the only thing in this country which commands a high price. _______________________________________________ gnote-list mailing list [email protected] https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnote-list
