Just like the history of open source software given by RMS
has become an urban legend

The (capitalized) Open Source movement was started in reaction
to the GPL and Free Software, notwithstanding the existence of
the BSD license. Open Source was conceived as being business-
friendly rather than user-friendly, and sold as a technique for
creating better software by leveraging many eyes and hands.

But the FSF does not care about business, or efficiency, or
better ways to create software. They care that users of software
have the four freedoms.
