If you think IBM didn't learn the meaning of "embrace, extend and extinguish" from Micro$oft then you're a bigger Freetard moron than I thought. Ever since Linux latched on to IBM's teat with Sequent's SMP code contributions the "extinguish" handwriting has been on the wall. IBM will wipe your socialist Freetard asses with the GPL. Capitalism *always* wins.
My, so much foul, seething venom. Actually, all this proposed purchase does is demonstrate the visionary wisdom of Richard Stallman. It is not prudent to rely on the good graces of companies or individuals, because they are all ephemeral. People die, companies are acquired or go under. By making software free, its authors are assured that come what may, no one can incorporate their work into products that can be delivered to users without giving those users the freedom to run, read, modify, and share the code. _______________________________________________ gnu-misc-discuss mailing list gnu-misc-discuss@gnu.org http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gnu-misc-discuss
