I do not think so - the talk topic is about Nix, a GNU/Linux distribution. So if he used a Macbook (I cannot see this in the video), it is most likely one of the older models that are famous for being compatible with Libreboot. Then of course it is not a machine with proprietary software, but one with a GNU system - entirely "eat your own dog food" style! Andreas
