I'm sorry, but this is currently 'expected behaviour'.
The midi output is very rudimentary, only the plain
notes pitches and durations have midi translators.
There's lots of things about the midi output that needs
to be fixed. I've not been able to do very much on the
midi front the past half year, since my midi output is
broken (i switched to linux-ppc. Hopefully lots will be
fixed by the end of this month). Moreover, i don't know
too much about midi yet; we could do with a midi guru too.
