        So you (and the rest of GNU music discuss knows), I'm planning on
doing some serious hacking to build Jan Wuerthner's MidiScore into a
quality GUI front-end to mudela. (Preferably with his assent and hopefully
his contributions, of course.)

        I've already posted some very preliminary results (see the list
archive for details) - I mean, like, hour-of-hacking preliminary - but
should be able to start hacking a lot on it once I'm done with school for
the year (~the end of May).

        I don't think I'm planning on having the thing incorporate all the
features of mudela... some things don't lend themselves particularly well
to GUI manipulation, and would complicate the interface to such a degree
that it'd just be easier to learn mudela. Its elephantine interface is, in
my mind, the worst thing about Finale.
