As Han-Wen showed in an example, you could have several StaffGroups
in the score, if you want braces instead of square brackets, use
GrandStaff instead of StaffGroup. Unfortunately, for technical
reasons, the braces are not available in all possible sizes.
It should even be possible to combine square brackets and braces on the
same staffs.

I could send you an example where the lyrics splits in a few places.
