Hello,

The files lilypond-1.0.19/mf/out/feta*.afm "distributed" with
lilypond-1.0.19.tar.gz and the ones "generated" after a
"./configure; make all" are different.

Using gallina.ly as a test,

 * The "generated" afm files generate more-or-less correct output
except a few quirks like the measure changes: "6/4" becomes
something that looks like a sans-serif letter "C", and "4/4" becomes
something like a sans-serif letter "O." (something like that? I'm
   not sure.)

 * I then tried to replace the *.afm files with the "distributed" ones.
Many of the noteheads now become arch-up fermatas; the G-clef
becomes a cut-time symbol, and other weird stuff.

I first noticed the problem after running "make dvi" to create
refman.dvi etc. ('cause a Debian user filed a bug to request the
documentation. :-)

As usual, my mind is really boggled, so when you have time, could you
please check to see what the problem is? Just wanted to make sure it
has nothing to do with my egcs and python installation. Thanks. :-)
