You can even tune it bit, look at scm/midi.scm. There's also an
instrument equaliser.

Yes, but it's quite crude. Midi tempos changes aren't yet coupled to
tempo indications, and there's no accelerando or rallantando. You
can make a tempo voice, that goes like this:
\tempo 4 = 30;
s4*2
\tempo 4 = 50;
s4*8
\tempo 4 = 65;
s4*9

Hmm, you can select the font style; maybe adding a 'tempo-style' would
