I disagree. The changes between 1.2 and 1.3 are not primarily in the
input format. Moving input over from 1.2 to 1.3 isn't that difficult
(there is a script that automates a lot of the work). A patch that
does this (if you can find one willing to do it) will surely not be
included in 1.3, since the implementation is much more different from
that of 1.2. Second, the innards of 1.2 are much more complicated than
that of 1.3. That alone is enough reason for not trying this.
