I tried downloading and installing them. The installation instruction
web page says:
GUILE 1.3.4 or newer, check out
http://www.gnu.org/software/guile/guile.html. Version 1.4 is
recommended for better performance.
So I installed the guile-1.4-2 and guile-devel-1.4-2 rpms. Now when I
try to install lilypond, I get:
[root@acme47 /tmp]# rpm -Uvh lilypond-1.3.71-1.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
libguile.so.6 is needed by lilypond-1.3.71-1
/usr/lib/libguile.so.9 is what comes with guile-1.4. Is the rpm
written to be too specific about what guile library to use, or should
the installation instructions specify a different guile version?
