I am not sure if I understand this "community" correctly. I would asume that
it is related to something like GNU Solaris (Nexenta) but not to what I believe 
needs discussion: integrating Free Software (including GNU) into a UNIX
centric OpenSolaris distribution.

The problem is that you cannot be compatible with something from what you 
don't know how and from what sources it has been compiled.

If Sun either opens the build process or Sun adopts to the SPS system
we use at SchilliX, it is possible.

As I noted: if you like to have real compatibility, you need to do much more
than just trying to include e.g. a binary called "bash".
