Because, at http://www.gnucash.org/xacc/ in the "Download X-Accountant" section, the second link ("The _source_") points to http://www.gnucash.org/xacc/download/xacc-1.0.17.tar.gz, so that's what I downloaded. If the problem was "cannot locate the server; no dns entry" or something like that, it's because my secondary dns provider (granitecanyon.com) is overloaded serving over 12k dns zones and is basicly very broken right now. If it was any other kind of problem, I am not aware of it and could you provide some more details?
