I don't have a sparc/solaris platform handy

fixed the web page to point at
ftp://gnucash.org/pub/xacc/ for the latest sources.

If you have the inclination, I'd be happy if you built 
both xacc-1.0.18 and xacc-1.0.18_fr (the french version).

gnucash.org is on granitecanyoon ...

It would connect, download  some tens of kbytes, disconnnect.
Did this multiple times with the .gz so I went for the .Z which worked. 
I said "hmm", and tried the .gz again, and this time it worked.  The error 
meessages were "disconnected by peer" or something like that.

Is your ethernet card trying to DMA directly off the disk or some other fancy
technology?
