I just finished upgrading, and our current CVS version works just fine
with glibc-2.1 etc. (basically the current Debian unstable (as of
yesterday) + Jim Pick's new gnome devel staging section). Be careful
upgrading, though. Using dslect hosed my system, and I had to go back
with a rescue disk and use dpkg --root=/mnt and my local mirror to fix
things. This will probably be straightened out soon, but for now,
caveat emptor.
Also, thanks to Tyson, we now have Debian xmhtml packages which seem
to work just fine (thanks Tyson). So you shouldn't need anything
non-debian to build gnucash (motif or gnome) on a Debian unstable
system now.
As a final note, Adrian's sent me what looks like a working GtkSheet
with all kinds of cool new features (we don't need (yet)), so I should
be able to get the new register finished up soon. After working with
Adrian, GtkSheet now has most of the callback functionality that Xbae
did, so there's much less UI specific code now...
