The lesstif maintainers stated that:
The missing symbols in lesstif aren't really "missing"; they're there
when lesstif is built for motif-2.0 compatibility, and are absent when
built for motif-1.2 compatibility.
unfortunately, the default buuild for lesstif is 1.2-compatibility.
They promised to add these in future versions, but may not yet have done so ...
