Kontor is good, but it's LGPL and not GPL. Also, it's very much Java-based
whilst GNU-GL will be written in C/C++. I think the existance of both
projects will serve as an incentive for everyone to work a little harder.

It IS interesting to note though that Kontor seems to have evaluated the
different technological advantages of using CORBA, an 3-tier style and
come to basically the same conclusion as we have.

That is something I would like to see too. I believe Bruce Perens
touched this when he made a speech in Iceland in May. He wanted to see
something like Quicken available for GNU/Linux. I have no what Quicken
is, but from his description, it would seem to be something related to
bill paying and on-line banking.
