It would help development if you could report the problems you're
having in detail.  They could either be (a) known problems that
we have a fix or workaround for or (b) something new that we
should know about.

Yes, GnuCash needs more volunteers!

Yeah, the ChangeLog isn't being maintained.  I find them useful
too.
