If I understand what you're saying, couldn't you just use splits for
this.  You'd so something like this in your checking account
(presuming that this is where the deposit is eventually going):

  date-1 Some Deposit
      some-client-1              $100
      some-client-2               $75
      some-client-3              $321

You can do this by switching the register to "multi-line" mode using
the pop-up menu at the bottom.

Or perhaps you meant something different...
