When the bank account is in single line mode, field 2, 0 is the
"transfer from" field. I think that this field should not show up in
single line mode, based on its' relative infrequency of occurrence.
In the double line mode, an incongruency which was causing me problems
was the way that the "transfer from" field was moving to the second
line of the register, leaving a blank in its' old place above it. I
was going to change that, and make sure that the transfer from field
was going to stay on the top line no matter what the layout was.
However, the more that I think about it, the more that I think that
the "transfer from' belongs not on the first line, but the "action"
field (I was thinking that this should be called "type") from the
second line of the double line entry belongs on the first line.
But then I think about the action field, and how it kind of doesn't
make sense. I asked myself why I would put "check" in the action
field if I had a number in the "num" field above. Why not have them
both in the same box? Is it possible that any of the other choices
besides check could be numbered? I guess that would throw my idea out
the door. Could it?
That still leaves me with what to do with the transfer from field.
Can we get rid of it from the first line of the entry? How often is
it used?
