However, I may decide to override it in some particular case. (Tax law 
permitting)

When I decide, either with the assistance of the FIFO report, or through
explicit designation of some other items, I should then be able to record 
that decision and later retrieve from the engine and report exact date of 
purchase, cost, etc. for the items that I sold in a particular transaction.
