The existence of KDE on your system shouldn't make any difference
(touch wood).

This is odd, because according to the ChangeLog, the code that is
generating the error (which is actually guile code) hasn't changed.

Assuming you're not prepared to send one of us a copy of the data
file (which would obviously help), there are two things you can do:
1) Provide the version information as explained above.
2) If you're feeling ambitous, check out the latest CVS code,
compile GnuCash yourself (which means installing the -devel versions
of all the gnome libraries, etc, as well as g-wrap, swig, and
automake), and see if the problem still occurs in the CVS version.
I can't help you any more, but it will make it easier for the other
developers if you can at least provide the version information.
