Here's a list of what's installed on my machine:

Package: libgtk-perl
Package: libgtkmm-dev
Package: libgtkmm
Package: libgtk1.1-dev
Package: libgtk-dev
Package: libgtk1
Package: libgtk1.1-doc
Package: libgtk-doc
Package: libgtkxmhtml0
Package: libgtkxmhtml-dev
Package: libgtk1.1-dbg
Package: libgtk1.1
Package: libgnome-dev
Package: libgnome0
Package: libgnome-perl

I'm wondering if there might not be a conflict having gtk1 (reportedly
stable) and gtk1.1 (unstable, according to the debian information) files
both in place.

To restate one of my original questions, where should I expect to
find ArtSVP declared/defined? It's not in "/usr/include" or
"usr/X11R6/include" (or any any file in a subdirectory thereof)
on my disk.

  Thanks,

                                        -- MC --
