I would guess that something went wrong during his Guppi installation so that ./configure of gnucash ended up compiling without Guppi -- but, looking into configure.in, it seems this is only possible if the user explicitly specified - --disable-guppi. I wonder whether we should rename the --disable-guppi option into --disable-guppi-and-yes-i-dont-want-graphics...
