Hello,

I've just started playing with building GnuCash. I am using Mandrake
9.1.

I used cvs to download the sources for the gnucash-1-8-branch. I have
successfully compiled and installed this, and as far as I can tell, it
works fine.

I have also downloaded the main (1.9.0) branch via cvs. I then try to
build this. However, this then fails when doing something with this:
make gnucash.pot-update

This is the error I get:
make[3]: *** No rule to make target `../src/bin/strsub.c', needed by
`gnucash.pot-update'. Stop.

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this? Needless to say,
there is no strsub.c file visible anywhere within this branch. There is,
of course, a copy in the 1.8 branch

I have tried removing any references to strsub.c from Makefile,
POTFILES, and POTFILES.in, and as far as I can tell, everything now
builds OK.

Is this simply something that hasn't been removed properly?
