Your analysis is correct. This needs to be removed from the POTFILES.in in CVS. Hopefully someone can get to it soon, otherwise it will have to wait a bit -- I'm recovering from a near-fatal disk crash and trying to save as much data as I can (including my home directory, work space, lots of email, and my gnucash development environment). If nobody else gets to this before I've recovered, then I'll deal then.
