John, Can confirm after reopening the register after changing back to basic ledger and double line it now works as expected when you enter the transfer account and the amount of the first line on the Linux box. (File is now only open on one computer at a time).
I am not however getting the problem Mark encountered when I perform the same operations in v3.5 on Windows 10 (behavior is now the same as on the Linux box as we would expect). Basic Ledger and Double line mode were selected before opening the register (my savings account) Open a new transaction at current date , entered a description, tabbed to the Account field and selected the transfer account (an expense account), entered an amount in the Credit column. This created a transaction with the correct splits as expected - no crashing.
