I must be missing something:  I created settings.ini in %LOCALAPPDATA% 
(C:\Users\Steve\AppData\Local\gtk-3.0) to include:

[Settings]
gtk-font-name=Arial 14

Per the instructions you pointed me to.   It made no difference to the font 
displayed in the Register.  Is there another location I’m missing, or another 
file that points to this location that needs to be edited?
