I'm embarrassed to say it is user brain malfunction.  Thank you Adrien, I
looked again this morning and realized that Gnucash was showing me my
downloads of QFX files, NOT the folder on my hard drive.  Further, the
newer download was not at the head of the list that Gnucash showed me.
Funny how you can get stuck on a preconception.
