Thanks Geoff and others for your replies... I don't see the point of a blank entry like that. For bank accounts I expect to import data from external files, not do any manual entries, but maybe I'm naive.
I guess I'm okay for now, except for a general feeling of uneasiness about the interface. When doing something dumb, it wold be nice to get some kind of complaint.
