If you deselect the "Show auto-save confirmation question" you won't have to 
deal with " << it SHOULD wait to pop up only after the entry of a transaction 
is complete, not in the middle* >>.  The question won't pop upat all, but it 
will save.

But that means taking upon oneself responsibility of doing  hard saves
frequently enough that that the amount of work lost not too painful.
Best to not enter hours of work between explicit hard saves of the data.

(*) Instead of "if time expired" between anything, every time entry of a
transaction completed, check if time expired. That way will not be in
the middle of entry of a transaction.
