to be clear, although I have the gnome-software-plugin-flatpak package
installed, I did it for flatpak "discoverability" purposes. I just checked
and I have gnome software preferences set to "manual." However, for some
reason my systems seem to update flatpak on some sort of schedule, so most
of the time I kick off the updates in a terminal so I know what is being
updated.
