Please remember to do a "reply-all" so that the Gnucash Users forum is also
notified; I have copied the group on this response.

I'll try not to be overly technical, but we will need the group because
there is one piece of information that I don't have, and the group probably
will.

A note; there is a significant difference between the GnuCash "program",
and your GnuCash "data". It sounds to me like the Gnucash is fine - it
comes up and you get a blank window. This tells me that the program is
working, but just cannot find any data file.

The "program" (on the Mac) lives in the Application folder -- in the
Finder, you can select the "Go" menu and select "Applications", and GnuCash
should be there. There should only be one "program".

So, you just need to find your data file... and this is the part that the
group can help with: I assume (because you declared yourself to not be very
tech savvy) that you have not stored the file in any custom place (I have,
and I don't remember where the data is stored by default -- I have a vague
memory that it is somewhere in your home folder.

When you say the data is stored on "the SSD", I assume you mean your Mac's
main hard drive, right?

If I remember correctly, on the Mac, GnuCash always opens the last file.
When you bring it up and it is "blank", you have have menus across the top,
right? Under your "File" menu, is there a file name between the
"Properties" and the "Close"? That should be your data file -- I call mine
"Richard", so I have "1 Richard.gnucash" there. If you select this entry,
it should load your file.

If you don't have anything listed, that's another problem.

Best wishes (and remember to reply to all so that the group can see this)
