And Windows users can open File Explorer and go to the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\gnucash\bin". In that folder, right-click the file gnucash.exe", select Properties, and look on the Details tab at "Product Version". (It's also possible in my Windows 10 to just hover the mouse over the file and get a "file version", but that may not work in all versions of Windows and I'm not clear on the connection between file version and program version.)
