It doesn't necessarily have to be in another account.

For example, today I was checking my Wells Fargo credit card
transactions against the GC register for that account. I discovered I
had accidentally recorded a Bank of America card transaction in the
Wells Fargo register. I selected the split of that transaction that
referenced the Wells Fargo account and changed it to Bank of America.
When I hit Enter to commit the change, the transaction vanished from the
Wells Fargo register and appeared in the Bank of America register.
