Please don’t write directly to GnuCash developers directly unless you’re 
expressly invited to. Always use the gnucash-users mailing list.

Yes, see https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=799633 if you have a 
bugs.gnucash.org account (or ask for one if you don’t). It’s there to prevent 
the automatic decimal place option from changing the amount of entries with no 
decimal places; that was https://bugs.gnucash.org/show_bug.cgi?id=797766.
