U+C didn’t fail, that’s what it’s supposed to do: Update the existing transaction to match the imported data, see https://www.gnucash.org/docs/v5/C/gnucash-manual/trans-import.html#trans-import-matcher. Your choices for undoing it are hand-edit each transaction to put it back the way it was or delete your file and rename a backup file from before that import and re-import, choosing C instead of U+C. If you’ve done other work since that backup you’ll have to redo it; you may be able to recover some of that by replaying transaction logs. If you use a SQL backend you’ll have to use your self-managed backups.
