Hi Jerry,
You didn't say what operating system you have; but I'll assume it's
probably Windows. (Let me know if that's not right.) So assuming
Windows, here's what I think should work for you.
1. Exit and close GnuCash.
2. Open Windows File Explorer.
3. At the top center of the File Explorer window, backspace over
whatever is currently there to erase it.
4. In that same erased space, type in the following: %APPDATA%\GnuCash
5. That should open the proper folder location with sub-folders named:
books, checks, translog.
IMPORTANT: If you don't see those sub-folders, STOP; since you're
probably in the wrong location.
But assuming you do see those folders, continue on.
6. In that folder location (%APPDATA%\GnuCash), look for a file named:
gtk-3.0.css
7a. If you see that file there, you'll need to edit it.
7b. If you don't see that file there, you'll need to create it.
8. Whether you edit it or create it, gtk-3.0.css is or will be a plain
text file.
9. The text that you need to have in that file is as follows (as shown
here in the following 3 lines):
* {
font: 14pt arial, sans-serif;
}
10. Once you've edited or created that file with the above 3 lines in
it, save the file.
11. Make sure the saved file has the name "gtk-3.0.css", and that
there's no added .txt after .css.
12. Once that's done, go ahead and re-open GnuCash.
13. You should now hopefully see that the GnuCash font size is larger.
NOTE: If the font size is larger but still isn't large enough, you can
make it even larger.
Go thru the same procedure again. But in step 9, change the font size
to a larger number.
For example, change "14pt" to "16pt". I guarantee that will be pretty
large even for older eyes.
Let me know if this procedure works for you, or if you run into any
problems.
