If by 'in front of' you mean the left-hand separator, I specifically advised that is incorrect in an earlier post.

You do not resize a column by dragging the left separator, only the right one. Therefore, if you dragged the separator 'in front of' or to the left of, 'Transfer' then you are really dragging the separator that controls 'Description', not the one that controls 'Transfer'. The one you grabbed, and the one I circled in the screenshot is the one that snaps back. It should be the only one that does so.

You may want to at least temporarily turn on View > Double Line so you can see all possible column separators. Some are nested under others, such as the R (reconciled) column and the Transfer column.

Adrien

p.s. - I read the list in 'plain text' so I can't see your blue coloring, but thanks I suppose, though black text is just fine by me.

In the description (green line for me---came that way) I can drag the bar in front of transfer, or even after transfer and it pops back.  it never stays where i drop. None of the areas stayed--they all popped back.  Further below i tried your double-click and now my transfer only shows "fer" of transfer.  the R column is still there, as is the decrease, but the increase column is now*GONE.*   It also moved everything even off the screen to the right, but it is back with the shortened descriptions.
