Nevermind, I see in a broken part of the thread that I hadn't read yet you already solved it.

1. Is this a relocation on the same machine for the same user? or,

2. Are you moving the file to an external location, or a different user or other physical machine or OS instance entirely?

Which type of move you want to do, makes a difference in what steps you need to take.

1. For a simple local 'folder' relocation, Gyle's answer is likely the simplest way to get it done. (you can also just move the file itself and since you are on Windows, double-click to open it, or otherwise use File > Open within GnuCash to the new location)

2. For other types of moves, David & Jim's answers will guide you.

Windows 11, GnuCash version 5.14

Is there anything special I need to do to move my GnuCash data file other
than close GnuCash, move the file, reopen GnuCash and point it to the new
location and open the file?
