Okay. I've been banking at my credit union since Ronnie was behind the
Big Desk...and running for re-election. I used Quicken when I first
tried electronic banking, but I've been using GnuCash for several years now.
However.
My credit union has apparently switched to another software vendor to
manage transaction downloads. And they didn't put in any kind of a
filter. So, now, when I 'Download Transactions,' I get EVERY transaction
going back ten years, and more. And I have to go through every one of
those hundreds, maybe thousands, of transactions and turn 'off' the 'A'
checkbox for new transactions...because, even though the transaction may
have been entered, and reconciled, years ago, with the new vendor's
software it shows as a new transaction and doesn't match. I did,
actually, go through every transaction like that, one by one...but, the
next time I downloaded transactions, I had to do it all over again. I
can't seem to get rid of them.
Now, I can filter out just the most recent 100 transactions in my
download...but I need to get some which go back farther than that. And
since, short of closing my account and opening a new one (which will
only work until they change vendors again...), I'd like to have some way
to mark these old-old transactions as previously entered, without having
to deal with them again.
Any suggestions?
