My financial place puts out wrong OFX files which reuse numbers, and I have found that using CSV files from them with the newer Gnucash CSV parser is working much better when I need to download. I understand your frustration when you get more than 10 years worth of data at once. I think with CSV you could process the file before import. Do you have a CSV option?
