For cash in the default currency it should just use a price of 1.  It doesn't do this. For non-default currencies (not my use case at the moment) it should use the exchange rate to the default currency.


Based on that, and particularly with respect to your mention of BTC in #2, I'd take a careful look at the various parents in that part of the tree, focusing on their currencies. It is my understanding that parent currencies control the child accounts and if they are mixed unexpected results can occur.
