Dates are just numbers, so this works for dates as well (as long as you enter those dates in a way that allows Gnumeric to recognize them as dates); For example enter 2006/2/1 in B4 and 2006/2/3 in B5. Select B4 and B5 and do the "drag-cell" trick to extend the selection to B4:B20. B20 now contains 2006/03/5.
