Good evening It appears that Gnumeric is currently the only application which uses this mechanism on my own machine. However, to be sure, I will need to compare the mime-types to identify spreadsheets of different type. And the recent files from other spreadsheet programs must be converted to XML.
Maybe writing a full-blown helper-utility to write unified lists of “recent files” is exaggerated and its uses limited. Thank you anyway for the information.
