I don't think I did it right since I don't see anything from Firefox...maybe 
Firefox blocks that reference tag?  Here's what I put and then restarted
my server:

log_format = $connected_address - $user [$date] "GET $REQUEST" $HTTP_CODE 
$SERVED_SIZE "-" "$USER_AGENT" \"%{Referer}i\"

  Sure.  By default this is used:

  log_format = $connected_address - $user [$date] "GET $REQUEST" $HTTP_CODE

  Adjust your "log_format" setting appropriately and all should be well.

  To be honest the output should be apache compatible by default, so
 awstats/webalizer/etc should "just work">
