Ah ha! I think i found the problem
If i point my browser to http://123.123.123.123:8888 with user = nobody then it works If i point my browser to http://myservername.com:8888 with user = nobody then i just get "Loading....." So it seems that gnump3d has trouble converting hostname to IP address? My servername resolves fine in other use (personal website on port 80) Is this another permissions problem.... i.e. user nobody tries to access a DNS service which it does not have permission for at some point? regards bren On 10/10/2007, Brendan Reid <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > however, http://wwwserver:8888 is still stubbornly resistant > "Loading......" with user as root or nobody > this might be down to the opt/bin prob above or a further config prob.. > bren >
