I get the feeling that some of the people complaining about Solaris not being 
under the GPL are simply using the licensing as an excuse.  I don't think the 
licensing is as big of an obstacle as they make it out to be.

Personally, I'm also a bit annoyed by the GPL worshipers. The CDDL is better 
because it is short sweet and to the point -- it's also OSI approved.  As long 
as a license is OSI approved, I don't see what all the fuss is about.  Why must 
the GPL be the gold standard in all matters? Unfortunately, blind fanaticism 
and faith tend to trump reason.

All of the above notwithstanding, I still wouldn't mind to see Solaris dual 
licensed.  I think it would be an interesting experiment -- it would show us if 
the license is the real issue or not.  For some in the Linux community, I think 
the real issue is that Solaris is not Linux -- it's not their baby.
