Hi. I'm running into a fun problem with a brand new install of NexentaCP 1.0RC3on a Dell SC430 (just hardware laying around and available).
I did the base install off of the CD with no problems. It finds the 80GB SATA drive, but thinks it is a Gen-ATA drive! Upon the first reboot, it loads grub, looks to be getting started and then fails with repeating errors like: WARNING:/[EMAIL PROTECTED],0/[EMAIL PROTECTED],2/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/[EMAIL PROTECTED],0 (Disk0): Error for command 'read sector' Error Level: Informational Sense Key: aborted command Vendor 'Gen-ATA ' error code: 0x3 WARNING: /[EMAIL PROTECTED],0/[EMAIL PROTECTED],2/[EMAIL PROTECTED] (ata2): timeout: abort request, target=1 lun=0 WARNING: /[EMAIL PROTECTED],0/[EMAIL PROTECTED],2/[EMAIL PROTECTED] (ata2): timeout: abort device, target=1 lun=0 WARNING: /[EMAIL PROTECTED],0/[EMAIL PROTECTED],2/[EMAIL PROTECTED] (ata2): timeout: reset target, target=1 lun=0 WARNING: /[EMAIL PROTECTED],0/[EMAIL PROTECTED],2/[EMAIL PROTECTED] (ata2): timeout: reset bus, target=1 lun=0 ... and repeat (slowly). So, it looks to me like it somehow mapped the wrong driver to the SATA disk in the install and when it boots, it's looking for an IDE drive, not a SATA (linux maps SATA disks through the SCSI driver, what does OpenSolaris do?). I haven't found anything via Google on this scenario yet. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks, Sam
