Hi list, I installed Nexenta 1.0.1 test 4 on a machine with a ZFS root as mirrored drives. Quite usefully, ZFS told me about a bunch of bad sectors on the drive (which I now see is why I was having problems with Linux on the machine earlier) so I removed the drive at c1t0d0, ZFS kept running just fine, I rebooted, setting the second drive to boot, and got:
bad PBR sig So... I'm guessing grub wasn't installed onto the second drive? In this instance it doesn't matter - as a brand new install I replaced the drive and re-installed in a few minutes' time, but I'd like to know how to set things up so that I _can_ reboot if there's a disk failure. I can pretty easily test this by swapping the drives in BIOS, I think. And, of course, it would be lovely if the installer would do such a thing. :) Thanks, -Bill ----- Bill McGonigle, Owner Work: 603.448.4440 BFC Computing, LLC Home: 603.448.1668 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cell: 603.252.2606 http://www.bfccomputing.com/ Page: 603.442.1833 Blog: http://blog.bfccomputing.com/ VCard: http://bfccomputing.com/vcard/bill.vcf _______________________________________________ gnusol-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.sonic.net/mailman/listinfo/gnusol-users
